What is Myofascial Release?
Myofascial Release is a therapeutic massage technique that targets the fascia—the thin, web-like connective tissue surrounding your muscles and organs. When fascia becomes restricted from injury, stress, or repetitive strain, it can cause chronic pain, tightness, and limited mobility. This slow, sustained form of bodywork is designed to gently stretch and release these restrictions, improving overall function and freedom of movement.
Quick Facts
✓ Relieves chronic pain and tension
✓ Increases range of motion and flexibility
✓ Helps break up adhesions and scar tissue
✓ Especially effective for injuries, postural imbalances, and repetitive strain
✓ Gentle and deeply effective without aggressive pressure.
What Makes Myofascial Release Different
Therapists use slow, sustained pressure and specific holds to allow the fascia to naturally soften and lengthen—without forcing or rushing the body. There’s no oil used, and the work is often quiet, still, and deeply focused. It’s subtle, but powerful.
Unlike traditional massage that targets muscle tissue through strokes and pressure, myofascial release focuses on the connective tissue that surrounds and supports those muscles.
Myofasical Release Is Great For:
✓ Chronic neck, shoulder, or back pain
✓ TMJ or jaw tightness
✓ Plantar fasciitis or tight calves
✓ Repetitive use injuries (carpal tunnel, tendinitis)
✓ Post-surgical adhesions and scar tissue
✓ Fibromyalgia and other pain syndromes
✓ Poor posture or spinal imbalances
✓ Headaches or migraines
✓ Restricted movement or stiffness
✓ Stress-related body tension
Is It Right For You?
If you’ve tried other therapies and still feel “stuck,” restricted, or in pain, myofascial release may be exactly what your body needs. It’s especially helpful for clients dealing with chronic conditions, injury recovery, or long-standing muscular imbalances. Sessions are gentle but focused—perfect for anyone seeking real change without deep, aggressive pressure.
Our highly trained therapists understand the nuances of fascia and how it affects everything from pain to posture. We blend science and intuition to create a calm, grounded session that helps your body release at its own pace—no forcing, no rushing, just effective relief.
What to Expect During Your Deep Tissue Massage
Consultation & Intake
We’ll begin by reviewing your concerns, posture, and movement patterns. Your therapist may ask about injuries or surgeries to better understand how your fascia is affecting your body.Clothed or Draped Work
Myofascial work is done without lotion or oil, so the therapist can anchor into the fascia. You may remain partially clothed, or fully draped depending on the area being addressed.Sustained Pressure & Stillness
Your therapist will apply gentle, sustained holds—waiting for the tissue to respond. There’s no “kneading,” just deep connection, slow release, and focused presence.Tuning In
You may be asked to breathe, notice sensations, or lightly engage muscles to help the process along. It’s a collaborative, body-aware approach to healing. Results Over Time
While you might feel relief after one session, the real power of myofascial release builds over time. Each session helps the body unwind more deeply and restore balance.
After Your Massage
It’s normal to feel looser, lighter—or even emotionally released—after a session. Drink water, rest if you can, and notice changes in posture, breathing, or pain patterns over the next few days. Soreness is possible as old tension unravels, but should subside quickly.
